LD 2052, a legislative resolve from April 2026, directs MEPRI to gather and analyze information from Maine schools regarding the use of technology in the classroom, safety policies and procedures in place, and the means employed to ensure compliance with those policies and procedures. We will also gather information from state and national experts about best practices for safe instructional technology use for children, including available relevant guidance.

MEPRI will distribute a series of surveys in October and November 2026 to key stakeholders – teachers, administrators, and district tech directors – in all 16 Maine counties. We will update this page when the surveys are released.
